'Lottery rapist told: You will be hurt very badly'

A MARKET trader who allegedly threatened to kill Lottery rapist Iorworth Hoare sent him bullets in the post, a court heard. Cops used DNA evidence and hired a handwriting expert to link Peter Oates, of Akerman Road, Brixton, with the sinister packages. Newcastle Crown Court heard postal workers intercepted two letters addressed to Hoare and his neighbours at the luxury Darras Hall Estate in Northumberland on March 22. One letter ordered Hoare to leave the estate or face "hired hands who use real ammunition". The second letter made similar threats. Oates, 43, denies two charges of making a threat to kill Mr Hoare, who won the Lottery jackpot in August 2004 while serving a jail term for rape and moved to the north east when he was released. .
