Serial rapist nabbed in Mabopane

A serial rapist that has been terrorising the Mabopane area in the North West province for the past year has been identified by all fifteen girls he was believed to have raped, police said on Saturday. Superintendent Junior Metsi said the man, who targeted girls aged between nine and fourteen, was arrested for the rapes which started in September last year. The last case reported was in July this year. The man was caught out by his modus operandi, which was to approach a girl near Klipgat village and ask her for directions. He would then take out his cellphone and "pretend" to be talking to someone he was going to meet, said Metsi. Having falsely obtained "further directions" he would ask the girl to accompany him to show him the way, luring her into an isolated area where he would then rape her.
