Serial rapist could get life
MIDDLESEX COUNTY A 36-year old New Brunswick man, accused of terrorizing women during a series of attacks, is facing up to life in prison after being convicted yesterday of raping and kidnapping women at knifepoint in New Brunswick and Edison. Bruce Sterling, a former medical technician at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, was convicted in Superior Court, New Brunswick, on a total of 12 charges in connection with sexually assaulting and kidnapping a woman on Ray Street, New Brunswick, on June 9, 2003, and raping and kidnapping another woman in the Riverview Apartments in Edison on Jan. 18, 2005. He was also convicted of burglary stemming from an incident at Oak Leaf Village Apartments in North Brunswick on May 27, 2005. Sterling was arrested following the attempted burglary.
