Jury Sees Taped Confession Of Accused Rapist
(CBS4 News) MIAMI The accused Shenandoah rapist, Reynaldo Rapalo, is back in court for day three in the trial where he stands accused of raping an 11-year old girl.On the stand Wednesday morning, Detective Humberto Viera, who explained to the jury that during Rapalos incriminating taped confession, the accused rapist interrupted himself in order to apologize to the chief of police.That taped confession was played in court Wednesday. Jurors watched the tape as Rapalo, in the backseat of a patrol car, directed police to the home of an 11-year old rape victim in Shenandoah.On the tape, Rapalo describes in detail how three months earlier he had forced his way into the girls home and choked and repeatedly raped her throughout the afternoon. The girl had come home from school early and her mother wasnt home.Detective Viera, who went on the ride with Rapalo, said the rape suspect was eager to tell all.
