CU chief, alleged rape victim to meet
University of Colorado president Hank Brown said Monday he would meet privately with the woman who says she was raped at a 2001 football party and blamed CU in a federal lawsuit. Brown's spokesperson said the president will talk to Lisa Simpson and possibly her parents for the first time in the next couple of weeks. In a teary TV interview that aired Sunday, Simpson said she hoped the university finally would acknowledge that the CU football culture allowed for hostility and abuse of women. "If he can just acknowledge that that was a problem," Simpson told 9News. "That's all I ever wanted in the first place - was for them to make sure it didn't happen to any other women." Simpson, who along with another woman sued CU in 2002, never met privately with former president Elizabeth Hoffman, school spokeswoman Michele McKinney said.
