Residents mistake man as rapist
Windows are being barred and citizens are taking the law into their own hands as the community of Falconridge comes to grips with a serial rapist who may be stalking their neighbourhood, say some locals. Nearly two dozen people encircled and apprehended a man outside a 7-Eleven store along Falconridge Blvd. on Sunday night, a man they thought was responsible for at least two brazen sexual attacks in their community, said one eyewitness. Residents apparently swarmed the suspect after he made crude comments to two young girls and held him until police arrived. The man was taken into custody but later released after police confirmed he was not the rapist. It's a graphic display of tensions growing over the unsolved sex attacks and several other close calls she and other area residents have experienced recently, said Trish Harris.
