Report: Rape suspect extradited from Mexico to U.S.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- A man accused in several rapes and home invasions around Nashville has been extradited from Mexico and has arrived in Tennessee, according to a media report. Ruben Hernandez Martinez, 38, faces 26 counts of aggravated rape, four counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, one count of attempted rape and one count of fleeing the Nashville jurisdiction, The Tennessean newspaper reported. Martinez was implicated in at least one of the incidents by Luis Castanon, who was convicted of several counts of aggravated rape and then sentenced to 60 years in prison for a 1998 rape. Martinez was added to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list on May 1, 2002, and was quickly captured in Rio Bravo, Mexico.
