Rapist has rough time in Ross
During his time outside prison walls, Bruce Lloyd Gregg, a convicted rapist, has lived in various towns in Marin and barely made a ripple. But when he moved into an apartment in Ross, his life suddenly became much more complicated. Upon learning Gregg had arrived in town, Ross officials sent out a mass e-mail alerting residents to his new address. Shortly thereafter, Gregg's landlady terminated his lease. Now Gregg and his live-in girlfriend are faced with the prospect of an abrupt, expensive move from the bucolic property they had just settled into. Ross defends its notification e-mail, citing public safety concerns. But Gregg says he feels like society is ostracizing him for crimes committed years ago. "It sometimes amazes me that the harder we try to put our best foot forward, another hole opens in the road, another roadblock comes up," he said.

While I understand the difficulty that an individual faces in paying the longterm price for behavior that is short term. 2 things come to mind. . .
1- These are the only offenses Mr. Gregg was caught on.
2- Finding housing that you like is nothing compared to being triggered by the sight of a van for the rest of your life.
I'd like to see more articles written about survivors that are still coping with living 20 years later.
