Class scheduled for examiners of victims of rape

LANCASTER - The Antelope Valley Hospital Sexual Assault Response Team Center will present a course for medical professionals to learn how to become sexual assault forensic examiners for adults or adolescents. "By providing the training that nurses, doctors and other health care professionals need, we hope to be able to better prosecute sexual offenders with solid forensic evidence." Upon completion of the course (and after a preceptorship), the examiner will be able to assess, document, examine, photograph and properly collect evidence from the patient.
